n 1914, the American Metal Products Company was launched as the result of an innovative discovery of a new bronze alloy. As business grew, the company was renamed AMPCO Metal.

AMPCO Metal initiated a pumps division in 1948 using the metals produced by the parent company to build industrial centrifugal pumps primarily for saltwater applications. The division was a natural extension of AMPCO Metal's excellence in products being used for military operations, especially on barges and ships for the United States Navy.

As the company expanded, the Pumps Division was spun off from AMPCO Metals to launch Ampco Pumps - a company committed to excellence in the engineering and production of pumps. In 1995, under new ownership, Ampco Pumps leveraged its pump market and engineering expertise to diversify its product offerings by expanding into the sanitary pump market. The shift in focus resulted in tremendous growth and multiple plant and manufacturing expansions over the next 20 years and continues to drive the company forward.

Over the past decade, Ampco launched a new division, Ampco Applied Products. This division is focused on creating efficient commercial mixing and blending products built around Ampco's industry-leading pumps. From powder mixers and shear blenders to dry blenders and powder inducers, the AAP group has introduced products that make hard to handle media easier and more effectively processed.

Megadyne develops and manufactures power transmission belts, matched components and complete belt systems for a diverse range of applications. As a reliable partner for original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket distributors, with manufacturing plants in Europe, North America and Asia, Megadyne can provide its customers with a large range of products: thermoset and thermoplastic polyurethane belts, rubber timing and v-belts, pulleys, clamping plates, timing bars and complementary products, including made to order.

Short history 

Our story began in 1950 in the Netherlands, when Thomas Ammeraal developed an extraordinary belt for the bakery industry. His groundbreaking innovation was capable of high performance in extreme conditions. This development sealed the foundation of Ammeraal. 

Since then, the company started to grow rapidly and expanded beyond Dutch borders. In 1990, we became a part of Gamma Holding, which acquired Verseidag AG and merged its belting subsidiary with Ammeraal. And so we changed our name to Ammeraal Beltech. The company soon conquered not only the German, Danish and British markets, but also entered the USA, China, Australia, and South America.

Another breakthrough came in December 2018, when our company joined Megadyne and Jason Industrial under single ownership and leadership to create a true global leader in belting – AMMEGA. We are united under one common identity, but we preserve our unique strengths and combine them with one another. Together, we make your business move.

We create new solutions to meet new challenges

amixon® is a trendsetter in the development and manufacturing of equipment for the processing industry. One focus lies in the construction of sterile equipment that meets the highest and most demanding hygienic requirements. In this context, there are innovative mixing tools and devices for the complete discharge of residues available.

The manufacturing program includes powder mixers, vacuum dryers and reactors. Through continuous research and innovation, amixon® has significantly improved the productivity and hygiene standards of these process apparatuses in recent years. Many detailed solutions are protected by patent. 

Along with the product range and the customer base, amixon® has also grown steadily. There are currently 139 employees in Paderborn. Their goal is to develop and manufacture modern solutions for customers' individual process engineering tasks.

American Extrusion International started in February 1988 in a small, but nice marketing office in Boca Raton, Florida. We then moved to our current headquarters in South Beloit, Illinois in 1991 when we acquired Palmer Custom Machinery (the manufacturing part of the business).

We now have over 600 customers in over 100 countries and are recognized as the world leader in snack food manufacturing equipment.
